Commercial U-valve calculations

Simply described:   U-Value is the measure of the rate of heat loss through a material

Therefore, in all aspects of planning the design of your home or extension, you should be trying to get products with the lowest U-Values possible, because the lower the U value – the less heat is escaping.   Particular attention should be given to walls, floors, pitched roof/ flat roof, windows, insulation etc.

The calculation of U-Values can be rather difficult – as it is measured as the amount of heat lost through a one square meter of the material for every degree difference in temperature either side of the material.

We at EBSNI can offer advice and guidance on all aspects of this.
